As part of the Australian Geothermal Association's webinar series, Samantha Sellars from Seequent discussed the latest in subsurface technology. This includes real-world examples and case studies showing how 3D geological models support geothermal projects—from early exploration and well planning through to long-term resource management. It also features the story behind Seequent’s technology evolution, from roots in medical and film industries to a fully connected suite of geophysical, geological, and engineering tools powering the geothermal asset lifecycle, alongside the role partnerships play in accelerating industry growth.
Presenter:
Samantha Sellars is a geoscientist with nine years of experience across the petroleum and geothermal industries, and holds a BSc (hons) from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a MSc from Simon Fraser University. She currently works with Seequent as a Senior Customer Solutions Specialist, supporting customers through applied geological workflows. Her background includes geological modelling, seismic interpretation, and microseismic analysis, with a strong focus on integrated subsurface workflows. She is passionate about teaching best practices and coalescing multidisciplinary datasets to increase confidence in geological interpretation and decision making.
AGA Members have access to a recording of the presentation and the slide deck in the section below.
