AGA and ThinkGeoEnergy Announce Media Partnership and New Website Launch

The Australian Geothermal Association (AGA) and ThinkGeoEnergy are pleased to announce that we have established a media partnership aimed at supporting and facilitating the objectives of both organisations.

Concurrent with this announcement is the launch of the revamped AGA website. The new website features the geothermal projects in Australia, upcoming events, publications, and other research efforts in geothermal. With the mission of connecting Australia’s geothermal community, the AGA website provides a premium platform for learning about the geothermal industry in Australia and interacting with stakeholders.

The Australia Geothermal Association (AGA) (www.australiangeothermal.org.au) is the peak body for Australia's geothermal sector, providing a forum for individuals and organisations interested in geothermal energy information, discussion, networking, support and advocacy. The AGA is an Affiliated Member of the IGA and a Member of the Global Geothermal Alliance. The Association provides industry-related data to the public; examples include a Census of Australian Geothermal Projects and the white paper Geothermal Electricity Generation in Australia: Recent Developments and Future Potential. The AGA also has a number of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) that focus on specific facets of the geothermal industry. We are also pleased to report that the Australian state of Queensland recently became the first jurisdiction in the world to mandate the United Nations Framework Classification (UNFC) Geothermal Specifications for classifying and reporting geothermal energy resources.

Founded in 2008, ThinkGeoEnergy (www.thinkgeoenergy.com) is the leading source of geothermal news and the most respected source on information on global geothermal energy development. With our English, Spanish and Turkish websites, our e-mail newsletters and social media presence, we uniquely reach all decision makers in the global geothermal energy sector.

AGA President Mark Ballesteros commented “We are very excited to be formalising our association with ThinkGeoEnergy. The Australian geothermal industry is seeing a resurgence of activity recently and the AGA is committed to advocating for the growth of the industry and helping inform the public about the unique opportunities that geothermal provides as part of the energy transition. As the premier resource for accurate, timely, and up-to-date geothermal status updates on current global geothermal companies, news, and events, ThinkGeoEnergy is placed perfectly to support our efforts.”

ThinkGeoEnergy Editor-in-Chief Carlo Cariaga added “It is our pleasure to work with the AGA and provide a platform to broadcast the group’s efforts and advocacies to a wider audience. Geothermal development in Australia has been a long time coming and we share the optimism that the renewed interest we have seen in recent years will continue to grow. ThinkGeoEnergy supports the AGA in their mission to promote the growth of the geothermal industry in Australia.”
